Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) Tester
Product Details
1 Overview
Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) detector is a special instrument for testing the ability of the tested sample (such as masks, etc.) to filter out bacterial particles under specified conditions.
This instrument mainly refers to "Technical Requirements for Medical Surgical Masks" YY0469-2011, Appendix B "Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE) Test Method No. B.1.1.1 Test Instrument", and has been innovatively improved, using dual gas channels for simultaneous sampling Compared with the contrasting method, the sampling accuracy is improved.
This instrument is suitable for measurement and verification departments, third-party testing, textile industry and fiber raw material industry, etc.
2. Instrument characteristics
Ø Negative pressure and closed experimental environment to ensure the safety of operators;
Ø Two-way six-stage Andersen (Andersen) samplers are used for simultaneous sampling;
Ø The sampling chamber has a built-in peristaltic pump, and the flow rate of the peristaltic pump can be set;
Ø High-performance gas atomizer, the flow rate can be set;
Ø Special microbial aerosol generator, good atomization effect;

4. Related terms
Ø Bacterial Filtration Efficiency (BFE): Under specified conditions, the efficiency of the tested sample to filter out bacteria-containing particles is expressed as a percentage.
Ø Samples to be tested: masks, textiles and fiber raw materials, etc., are physical barriers provided to prevent the direct penetration of pathogenic microorganisms, body fluids, particles, etc.
5. Working principle
A certain concentration of bacterial aerosol occurs upstream of the sample to be tested. After entering the aerosol chamber and mixing evenly, the bacterial aerosol enters two parallel gas sampling systems. , as a positive quality control, by counting the ratio between the value of the positive quality control and the value of the sample test as the leak rate, thereby obtaining the filtration efficiency.
